Welcome to Deizi, a digital mental wellness and therapy platform designed to connect clients with verified therapists and provide personalized mental health tools and resources. By accessing or using our services through our mobile app (Android via Google Play) or web platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. Please read them carefully.

1. Platform Overview

Deizi provides:

  • Connection between clients and verified, licensed therapists
  • In-app or online therapy sessions and counseling services
  • Personalized mental health tools and progress tracking
  • Self-care resources including books, articles, and wellness exercises
  • Community support and mental wellness guidance

2. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using Deizi's services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, you must immediately discontinue use of our platform.

3. Eligibility and Account Requirements

To use Deizi, you must meet the following requirements:

For All Users

  • You must be at least 18 years of age or the age of majority in your jurisdiction
  • You must have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements
  • You must provide accurate, truthful, and complete information during registration

For Therapists

4. Use of Services

Deizi grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use our services for lawful purposes related to mental wellness and therapy. You agree to use the platform responsibly and in accordance with these terms.

5. Prohibited Activities

You agree NOT to engage in any of the following activities:

  • Use the platform for any illegal, harmful, or unauthorized purpose
  • Misrepresent your identity, credentials, qualifications, or intentions
  • Harass, threaten, discriminate against, or harm other users or therapists
  • Share harmful, abusive, defamatory, or inappropriate content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, accounts, or data
  • Interfere with or disrupt the platform's integrity, security, or performance
  • Transmit viruses, malware, or any malicious code
  • Scrape, copy, or extract data from the platform without authorization
  • Resell, redistribute, or commercialize Deizi's services without permission
  • Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights
  • Circumvent any security measures or access controls

6. Therapy Services and Professional Relationship

Session Booking and Management

  • Clients can book therapy sessions with verified therapists through the platform
  • Session scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations are subject to therapist policies
  • You will receive notifications for bookings, reminders, and updates

Therapist Independence

Therapists on Deizi are independent professionals, not employees or agents of Deizi. They maintain their own professional practices and are solely responsible for:

  • The quality and content of therapy sessions
  • Professional judgments and clinical decisions
  • Maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
  • Compliance with licensing board requirements and professional ethics

Confidentiality

Both clients and therapists are responsible for maintaining confidentiality during and after therapy sessions in accordance with professional standards and applicable laws. However, confidentiality may be limited in cases involving imminent danger, abuse, or legal requirements.

7. Important Disclaimers

  • Deizi is NOT a medical emergency service. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or emergency, please contact emergency services (911 or your local emergency number) or go to the nearest emergency room immediately.
  • Deizi does NOT replace in-person medical treatment, crisis intervention, or emergency psychiatric care.
  • Deizi is NOT responsible for therapy outcomes. Therapy results vary by individual, and we make no guarantees regarding the effectiveness of treatment.
  • Therapists act as independent professionals. Deizi is not liable for the actions, decisions, or professional conduct of therapists on the platform.

8. Payments and Refunds

Payment Processing

  • Payments are processed securely through PCI-compliant third-party providers (e.g., Stripe, Paystack, Flutterwave)
  • You must provide valid payment information for therapy sessions or premium features
  • Transaction fees and currency conversion charges may apply
  • Prices are subject to change with notice

Refund Policy

Refund eligibility depends on:

  • Session type and cancellation timing
  • Individual therapist policies and agreements
  • Circumstances of the cancellation or dispute

9. Intellectual Property Rights

All content, features, and functionality on Deizi, including but not limited to:

  • Software, code, and technology
  • Text, graphics, logos, images, and branding
  • Self-care resources, articles, and educational materials
  • Design, layout, and user interface

are the exclusive property of Deizi or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

10. User-Generated Content

By submitting content to Deizi (such as reviews, feedback, or community posts), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content for platform operations and improvements. You represent that:

  • You own or have the right to submit the content
  • The content does not violate any third-party rights
  • The content complies with these Terms of Use

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

Deizi and its services are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
  • Warranties that services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
  • Warranties regarding therapy outcomes or effectiveness
  • Warranties about the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of information
  • Warranties that therapists will meet your specific needs or expectations

You use Deizi at your own risk. We make no guarantees about mental health improvements or therapy results.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Deizi, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and therapists shall NOT be liable for:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
  • Emotional distress, psychological harm, or mental health deterioration
  • Therapy outcomes or results of mental health treatment
  • Actions or omissions of therapists on the platform
  • Unauthorized access to or loss of personal data
  • Platform downtime, technical issues, or service interruptions
  • Third-party actions or content

Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of Deizi shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Deizi and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, therapists, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Your use or misuse of Deizi's services
  • Your violation of these Terms of Use or applicable laws
  • Your violation of any rights of another party
  • Any content you submit or share on the platform
  • Your interactions with therapists or other users

14. Account Suspension and Termination

Your Right to Terminate

Our Right to Terminate

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately, with or without notice, if:

  • You violate these Terms of Use or our Privacy Policy
  • You engage in fraudulent, illegal, or harmful activities
  • You misrepresent your identity or credentials
  • Your account poses a security or safety risk
  • We are required to do so by law or legal authority

Upon termination, all licenses and rights granted to you will immediately cease.
